Christmas is even more special when it's shared with our four-legged family members. Say Cheese! brings together a festive collection of dogs, each with its own unique personality, gathered around Santa for what looks like the perfect holiday photo. It's hard not to smile as each one seems to react a little differently to the camera.

Several of the dogs featured in this painting were inspired by commission portraits I had painted over the years. I also included a very special member of our own family—Pepper, the little Jack Russell Terrier in the lower left corner. Pepper has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge, making this painting a wonderful reminder of the joy and unconditional love our pets bring into our lives.
