The artwork was reproduced as a commemorative poster, celebrating the rich history of a racetrack that meant so much to so many. The jockey silks featured in the painting represent some of the great champions who raced there: \u003cstrong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1150\"\u003eSeabiscuit, Citation, John Henry, Charismatic,\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1174\"\u003eLost in the Fog\u003c\/strong\u003e—horses whose names will forever be part of Bay Meadows' remarkable legacy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1612\"\u003eFor me, however, this painting is deeply personal. During my twenty-year riding career, I was fortunate to ride \u003cstrong data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1390\"\u003ewell over 1,000 winners\u003c\/strong\u003e at Bay Meadows. It wasn't just another racetrack—it was a second home. Countless mornings began there, countless afternoons ended in the winner's circle, and many of my favorite memories in racing were made on that track.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"1614\" data-end=\"2094\"\u003eToday, the grandstand, clubhouse, and racing surface are gone, replaced by homes, parks, and neighborhood streets. Yet the history of Bay Meadows lives on in a unique way. Many of the streets were named in honor of jockeys who helped make the track famous, including \u003cstrong data-start=\"1881\" data-end=\"1928\"\u003eBill Shoemaker, Russell Baze, Fernando Toro\u003c\/strong\u003e...and one named \u003cstrong data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"1961\"\u003eChapman Lane\u003c\/strong\u003e.
