You're watching the horses in front of you, looking for the slightest opening and hoping it comes before you run out of racetrack. Sometimes the hole opens and you get through. Sometimes it doesn't. I always thought it was a great expression, and it seemed like the perfect title for this painting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI chose a close-cropped composition to put the viewer right into the action.
