When the story of Cody Dorman, and Cody's Wish came on my radar, I thought "What a great story". The more I learned about Cody, the young boy, and watched Cody's Wish, the colt, run his races, the more intrigued I was by it. After Cody's wish won the 2023 Breeders' Cup Big As Fans Dirt Mile, my friend, Nansee Junis, encouraged me to do this painting. She thought that the story would make a great movie. She was right, in that they are planning the movie in the near future.

Included with each order is a wrist band which are a limited edition Cody's Wish/Cody Dorman charity wrist band. If you want to buy just a wrist band individually, they are $10 each, with a donation going to Make a Wish Cody Dorman legacy fund, which grants wishes to other children.

Cody was born Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that can cause delayed growth, intellectual disability and seizures. Cody, who had been granted a wish from Make-A-Wish. Was invited to be one of the VIP Wish Kids at Keenland in Lexington, Ky for their annual Make-A-Wish Day fundraiser. Godolphin, which has sponsored this event for many years, was selected as the host for Cody and his family. Cody was invited to tour Godolphin's Gainsborough farm the morning before the races at Keeneland started, in which each race scheduled for Make-A-Wish Day is dedicated to each Wish Kid in attendance. There were 40 plus weanlings on the farm at the time of Cody's visit. When one of those weanlings was led up to Cody, the young colt put his head in his lap and nuzzled him. It was an instant connection between human and horse. From that time forward, there was a bond that inspires all and transcends all. The story tells of the human connections brought together as a large family through the bond of a young boy and a young inexperienced colt. Because of the bond, Godophin named the colt Cody's Wish. When you think of the odds of Cody being chosen to visit the Gainsborough farm and out of 40 weanlings there was one, who really connected with him, it kind of gives you goosebumps. Over the next 4 years, the connection evolved into a story worthy of a Hollywood movie.

The horse was bred and owned by Godophin, trained by Bill Mott, and ridden by Junior Alvarado. Cody's Wish ran 16 times, won 11, finished 2nd once, and 3rd 4 times, and won $3,106,030. Cody Dorman and his family was there for all of his wins.

We decided to do 3 editions of signed and numbered prints in 3 sizes.  It's such a great story, that we decided to make the editions larger than the previous ones of other paintings.

Below are the dimensions and sizes of each edition.

11 x 14" 500 prints

16 x 20" 300 prints

24 x 30" 200 prints
